These terms govern your use of RoastSource, the coffee roasting management application available at roastsource.com. By using RoastSource, you agree to these terms. They're written in plain English because legal jargon helps no one.

1. What RoastSource is

RoastSource is a browser-based coffee roasting management application. It helps you track bean inventory, record roast profiles, rate cups, create blends, and explore coffee education. The application runs in your web browser and stores data locally on your device.

2. Free trial

RoastSource offers a 30-day free trial with full access to all features. No account creation or credit card is required to start the trial. After 30 days, certain usage limits take effect. Your existing data is preserved — you can still view, export, and reference everything. You just can't add more until you purchase a license.

3. Purchase and license

A RoastSource license costs $19.99 (USD), paid once. This is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Your license grants you personal, non-transferable use of the full application on up to 3 devices. Payments are processed by LemonSqueezy, which acts as the Merchant of Record and handles tax/VAT compliance.

4. Refund policy

If RoastSource isn't what you expected, we offer a 30-day refund from the date of purchase, no questions asked. Contact [email protected] for refunds. Since you get a 30-day free trial before purchasing, you'll have had 60 total days to evaluate the product.

5. Your data

All data you create in RoastSource (bean inventory, roast logs, ratings, blends, settings) is stored locally in your browser's localStorage. We do not have access to your data, do not store copies of your data, and cannot recover your data if you lose it. We strongly recommend using the built-in export feature to back up your data regularly.

6. What you can and can't do

You can: Use RoastSource for personal and commercial coffee roasting management. Export your data at any time. Share your experience and screenshots. Provide feedback and feature requests.

Please don't: Reverse-engineer, decompile, or redistribute the application code. Share your license key with others. Use RoastSource to build a competing product. Attempt to bypass license validation or usage limits.

7. Intellectual property

RoastSource and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by RoastSource and are protected by copyright. The data you create (your bean records, roast logs, ratings, etc.) belongs to you.

8. Availability and updates

We aim to keep RoastSource available and updated, but we can't guarantee 100% uptime or promise specific features or timelines. Since the app runs locally in your browser, it works even when our website is down. We reserve the right to update, modify, or discontinue features with reasonable notice.

9. Disclaimer

RoastSource is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We're a small operation and we do our best, but we can't guarantee that the software will be error-free or that it will meet every specific need. Coffee roasting involves heat and potentially hazardous equipment — RoastSource provides software guidance only and is not responsible for physical safety during roasting.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RoastSource shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for RoastSource ($19.99).

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll update the date at the top and, for significant changes, provide notice in the application. Continued use of RoastSource after changes constitutes acceptance.
